FYJC stands for First Year Junior College — the 11th standard in Maharashtra’s education system. After students complete their 10th board exams (SSC/CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE), they must apply for 11th standard admission to junior colleges.
To streamline and digitize this process, the School Education and Sports Department (SESD), Maharashtra introduced a centralized online FYJC admission portal covering key regions, including:
Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)
Pune
Nagpur
Nashik
Amravati
Aurangabad
This online system eliminates the need to visit multiple colleges and brings transparency and merit-based selection for all.
100% online and paperless
Centralized registration and allotment
Multi-round merit list system
Fair, merit-based seat allocation
Covers all government and private junior colleges
👉 Visit: VISIT NOW
Open the FYJC admission portal and click on the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). This region includes Mumbai city, suburbs, Navi Mumbai, and Thane.
Click on “New Student Registration.”
Enter your 10th Board details like seat number, board name, and year.
Fill in your name, mobile number, and email ID.
Set a password and complete registration.
You’ll receive a unique login ID and password.
✅ Tip: Use a valid mobile number and email for future updates and merit list alerts.
After registration:
Log in using your ID and password.
Fill in Part 1 of the form:
Personal details (Name, DOB, Gender)
Address and contact
Educational details (10th marks, board, subjects)
Caste/reservation category (if applicable)
📄 Documents to Keep Handy:
SSC/CBSE/ICSE Marksheet
Domicile Certificate (for state quota)
Caste Certificate (if applicable)
Special reservation documents (sports, handicapped, etc.)
Once Part 1 is filled, your application must be verified by your school or an authorized guidance center.
⏳ This verification is mandatory before you can fill college preferences in Part 2.
Now comes the most crucial part of the process.
Select your preferred colleges and streams (Science, Commerce, Arts).
Arrange your choices in priority order.
You can select multiple colleges (up to 10–15 or more).
🔍 Smart Tip: Use previous year’s cut-off marks for Mumbai colleges to make wise choices. Popular colleges like St. Xavier’s, KC, Mithibai, Ruia, etc., have high cut-offs.
After completing both parts:
Submit your form
Wait for the release of merit lists and college allotment
The FYJC admission authority releases multiple merit lists:
First General Merit List
Second Merit List
Third Merit List
Special Rounds (if seats are vacant)
If you’re allotted a seat:
Log in and click “Confirm Admission”
Visit the college (online or physically) and submit documents
Pay the admission fee as required by the college
🚨 IMPORTANT: If you don’t confirm your seat, you lose the allotment, and your seat is passed to the next eligible student.
Didn’t get your preferred college or any allotment?
You can participate in further rounds.
Edit your preferences or wait for vacancy lists.
You’ll still be eligible for better options in subsequent rounds.
Separate procedures are available for:
Bifocal subjects (Computer Science, IT, Electronics, etc.)
Minority Quota, In-house Quota, and Management Quota
These require additional forms or documents and are managed directly by respective colleges while still being uploaded to the online portal.
Once your admission is confirmed:
Receive confirmation from the college
Attend orientation (if applicable)
Get your 11th standard time-table and start classes
🎉 Congratulations! You are officially a First Year Junior College student in Mumbai!
